Eden Watterson Photograpy

Eden's brand design project was a breath of fresh air! Her unique style really inspired the brand's aesthetic, creating this ethereal-gothic look you see here.

 

Eden was drawn to the idea of a monogram as a 'mark' to accompany the business name, but we also wanted her logos to represent her personality while maintaining a polished, versatile appeal suitable for watermarking her photography and various marketing platforms including print, social media and her website. We managed to encapsulate these requirements into the completed brand identity you see here.

I made the decision to use diamonds in Eden's branding, as the portfolio piece we were basing it off gives a truly ethereal feel, it's dark but somehow light at the same time. This mirrors Eden, as she has a somewhat gothic style and is a wonderful, uplifting person to be around. I incorporated the diamonds that can also be viewed as stars to provide that feeling of light cutting through the burgundy and black tones. They appear within the font as well as having it as the 'mark' and present in the 'submark', to tie all of the elements together when not with one another.

Drawing inspiration from Eden's 'I am your God now' portfolio piece, we wanted to encapsulate that aesthetic and feel into her new brand identity. I did this partly by channelling the colours of these images to create a functioning colour palette that mirrors the images. Above you can see the branded social media templates that were designed as part of her branding package showing her branding in action.

This brand identity presentation is to show off the different elements of the branding together to get a feel for it, as well as focusing on the overall aesthetic. It also displays how the logos can be used in different instances; when in use on Eden's images as a watermark, they can be reduced in opacity as shown on her image above.

 

As well as being different in appearance when it comes to logo variants, they also differ in colour, with inverted options for alternative coloured backgrounds.

From the meticulously crafted logos, to the inspired colour palette and the carefully selected fonts, every element of this branding speaks to Eden's individuality.
